Why I took Japanese
Japanese culture and language have always been my interest. Luckily, one of my best friends I met in high school was half Japanese and half Korean, and through her, I've learned to appreciate many aspects of Japanese culture even more deeply. Their pop culture, arts, history, respectful manners, food and language were all extremely appealing to me, and this interest had led me to visit Japan more than seven times till now. Having been able to visit and travel around Japan often, I wanted to learn how to communicate in Japanese more fluently so I could learn more of its culture. Since its grammar and few of the vocabularies sound similar to my first-language Korean, it was luckily a little bit easier for me to first interact with Japanese language. But, definitely, learning new vocabularies and Hiragana letters were so far the greatest difficulty, but I look forward to learn a lot through this class so I can at least have basic conversations and interactions with Japanese people in the future!
